COVID-19: The Coming Weeks & Months; A Letter From Our Founder

Dear Coaches,

I hope you and your families are safe and well. It has been a very strange and scary time the last few weeks, and unfortunately there seems to be more strange and scary times ahead. In times like these, we need to be supporting each other more than ever.

With this in mind, I wanted to share with you the aims of the FCN over the coming weeks and months.

Due to many of our planned projects this year now being cancelled, we will be shifting our attention to our social media platforms and website. We want to provide coaches with more interactive ways to connect, share and develop, provide new ways for coaches to grow their own networks (even during periods of social distancing!) and provide a growing list of resources for coach development opportunities.

Our number one aim has always been to support women who coach, and we have tried to do that over the years with very little (if any) resources available to us. This year, we were beginning to move forwards in delivering more impactful projects and events which would have connected many female coaches in person. We will now have to save those for 2021!

We will still be launching a large Track & Field project, which we will be announcing in the next couple of weeks, but the rest of our work this year is likely to remain online. And with that – we are asking if you would like to get involved…

We want coaches to share their stories over the coming months, offer support for fellow coaches, write blogs, present webinars, create vlogs and join in with our forums and online discussions.

We have a very small team at the FCN; one full time member (that’s me), a part time Media Officer (JRW Media) and support from GB Long Jumper Abi Irozuru and a soon to be announced super coach! So delivery and management of projects, new content and social media posts can be very challenging at times! But if we all come together, and offer our support for each other throughout this very strange year ahead, we can make sure we are all ready to go come 2021.

If you would like to join the FCN team throughout 2020, please get in touch at info@femalecoachingnetwork.com

Lastly, I want to wish you and your families all the best over the coming months.

Stay Safe,

Vicky (Founder of the FCN)
